The lagoon next to what will become Jupiter Dunes Condo B now has water in it. There are more mysterious canals to the south of this lagoon. I’ve canoed in this area and it has straight canals through mangroves. Crabs jump off the mangroves and fall into your canoe. Various people have told me that the area now occupied by Ocean Trail and by Jupiter Dunes was once a large golf course. I haven’t found any evidence of it from aerial photos (and I have another picture from 1970 that I didn’t include here). Maybe it was only there in the late 70s, or maybe golf courses can’t be seen in an aerial photo. By the way, you’ll notice that you can’t find the Jupiter lighthouse in any of these pictures. |
